Being a Business Banker, I get to hear about many different businesses and their plan for success. I enjoy listening to their strategies and hearing about their passions, and figure out how I can help move them forward. Sometimes that means walking them through the process of applying for Small Business Administration (SBA) or traditional financing. Sometimes that means getting them connected with one of the many organizations in Dane County that help with the initial stages (and beyond) of starting a business so they are ready to apply for a loan – and figure out which one is the right fit for them. However I can help play a role in their steps toward running a successful business and what that means to them, I do.
Time and time again, I hear they are glad they found someone to answer the hard questions, or give them options for their next steps, or just connecting them to the right organization to initiate the process of putting together a business plan or projections. However, it makes me think about all the people that don’t walk into my office or happen to run into me at a community or networking event. What about all of the talented people that want to officially start their own business, but don’t know where to go or who to ask questions?
Madison, WI is an amazing hub of talent and opportunity, and so State Bank of Cross Plains is putting on a Startup Business Forum! This is real talk, where people can come hear our panelists talk about their experiences, what worked, and what didn’t. If you are thinking of starting a business or have recently become an entrepreneur and have questions, this event is for you.
In addition to our panelists, there will be organizations that are located in Dane County available to talk to that specifically help startup companies. Watch for the signup to come out soon!
